Mark Murriel, director of expeditionary medicine for Navy Medicine Readiness and Training Command Camp Pendleton, provides opening remarks at the NMRTC Camp Pendleton Navy Medicine Commissioning Brief held in the Naval Hospital Camp Pendleton galley meeting room on Jan. 23, 2026. Murriel is a former 1st Class Petty Officer who was commissioned in the Medical Service Corps and has served in the Navy for more than 35 years. The Navy Medicine Commissioning Brief provided valuable information to all staff members in attendance who may be interested in seeking a commission in the Navy Medical Corps, Navy Dental Corps, Navy Nurse Corps, or the Medical Service Corps.
