U.S. Air Force members from the 9th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron are inspected by members of the 9th Reconnaissance Wing Inspection Team as they don Mission Oriented Protective Posture gear during EXERCISE DRAGON SHIELD at Beale Air Force Base, California, January 14, 2026. EXERCISE DRAGON SHIELD tested the readiness of the 9th AMXS by requiring Airmen to launch aircraft in a simulated contested environment under austere conditions involving the need for MOPP gear at varying levels.
