U.S. Marine Corps cold weather gear is staged during pre-environmental training classes for Marines with 2nd Marine Logistics Group and 1st Marine Division, II Marine Expeditionary Force, as part of Mountain Training Exercise 1-26 at Marine Corps Mountain Warfare Training Center in Bridgeport, California, Jan. 13, 2026. PET classes are designed to prepare Marines for missions in cold, high-altitude, mountainous environments and include instruction on topics such as mobility training, living at high elevations, and conducting strenuous hikes in snow. Exercises like MTX 1-26 prove Marines’ ability to provide flexible and responsive combat service support during high intensity combat operations in contested and mountainous terrain.
