U.S. Marine Corps Cpl. Seydina Sarr, a rifleman with 12th Littoral Combat Team, 12th Marine Littoral Regiment, 3rd Marine Division, maneuvers over a bar during an obstacle course as part of a squad competition on Camp Hansen, Okinawa, Japan, Jan. 6, 2026. The squad competition evaluated Marines’ physical endurance, tactical proficiency, and small-unit leadership while reinforcing unit cohesion under pressure. One squad from each company within 12th LCT competed in a series of events to determine which Marine rifle squad most effectively demonstrated its combat capabilities. Sarr is a native of Maryland.
