U.S. Army Capt. Michael Johnson, brigade nurse, 173rd Airborne Brigade, provides a class on Delayed Evacuation Casualty Management (DECM) during medical training at Caserma Del Din, Vicenza, Italy, Jan. 9, 2026. Medics assigned to U.S. Army Health Clinic Vicenza and Dental Health Activity Italy also participated in the exercise led by U.S. Army Southern European Task Force, Africa (SETAF-AF). This training allows U.S. military medics to share best practices and gain insights in preparation for the U.S. Army Best Medic Competition by working alongside medical experts from the Armed Forces of Liberia, Ghana Armed Forces, and Italian Armed Forces.
