U.S. Marine Corps Sgt. Garret Weimer, a force reconnaissance Marine with 2nd Force Reconnaissance Company, 2nd Reconnaissance Battalion, 2nd Marine Division, skis during Winter Warfare Course in Kalix, Sweden, Jan. 4, 2026. The purpose of WWC is to train ground forces in a variety of cold-weather subjects, including skiing, how to use pulk sleds, develop winter fighting positions, camouflage and concealment, and several other areas that are vital in order to survive and operate in a cold-weather environment.
