The Valor Games first day of competition begins at the Dean E. Smith Center on the University Of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, N.C., May 21, 2013. Laughter and cheers mix with grunts, groans and a little trash talk on the court as competitors challenge each other in volleyball. The games, organized by Bridge II Sports invite wounded warriors, active, Reserve and National Guard and veterans, to compete in a series of contests May 21-23. Bridge II Sports is a nonprofit based in Durham, N.C., with the mission to create opportunities for children and adults who are physically challenged to play team and individual sports.
