Capt. Juan Carlos “JC” Uribe, commanding officer, Naval Supply Systems Command (NAVSUP) Business Systems Center (BSC), speaks with Department of War (DoW) Cyber Service Academy (CSA) students during an orientation visit at NAVSUP BSC onboard Naval Support Activity Mechanicsburg, January 6. The DoW CSA program allows NAVSUP BSC to recruit students who are not DoW or government employees and are enrolled in validated cyber programs of study at designated institutions. Following graduation, students are eligible for full-time employment with NAVSUP BSC. The objectives of the DoW CSA are to promote higher education in all disciplines of cyber, enhance the Department’s ability to recruit and retain cyber and information technology specialists, increase the number of military and civilian personnel in the DoW with this expertise, and ultimately, enhance the nation’s cyber posture. NAVSUP BSC is one of 11 commands under Commander, NAVSUP, and delivers information technology and management solutions with specific emphasis on logistics and financial-related products and services for the Navy, Department of War, other federal agencies, and international customers.
