A U.S. Marine assigned to Joint Task Force–Southern Border (JTF-SB) pounds a sign post into the ground for a National Defense Area (NDA) sign in El Centro, Calif., Dec. 26, 2025. This marks the fifth NDA established along the southern border. JTF-SB conducts full-scale, agile, and all-domain operations in support of U.S. Customs and Border Protection to protect the territorial integrity of the United States and achieve 100% operational control of the southern border.
