SASEBO, Japan (Oct. 17, 2025) Interior Communications Electrician 1st Class Geriz Paul Delapena was selected as Avenger-class mine countermeasures ship USS Pioneer (MCM 9) Senior Sailor of the Quarter, 3rd Quarter, FY 2025. USS Pioneer, part of Commander Task Force 77 (CTF 77), is operating in the 7th Fleet area of operations to enhance interoperability with partners and serve as a ready-response platform for contingency operations.
