The 921st Contingency Response Squadron, also known as “The Dragons,” executes the open-the-airbase mission set within the 621st Contingency Response Wing which enables rapid global mobility. The squadron is responsible for opening, operating and closing airbases in austere environments while being self-sustaining. U.S. military forces are deployed to the Caribbean in support of the U.S. Southern Command mission, Department of War-directed operations, and the president’s priorities to disrupt illicit drug trafficking and protect the homeland.
