    After their family’s rescue by the U.S. Navy’s 7th Fleet in 1975 abord the USNS Sgt. Andrew Miller, Nguyen’s mother, Le Tu, gave birth to his brother on the ship’s steel deck as sailors cheered. The baby was named Miller, left, in honor of the ship.
