A U.S. Marine Corps AH-1Z Viper helicopter assigned to Marine Light Attack Helicopter Squadron (HMLA) 369, Marine Aircraft Group 39, 3rd Marine Aircraft Wing, fires an M197 20mm automatic Gatling gun during a live-fire close air support training mission as part of MEUEX off the coast of Okinawa, Japan, Dec. 2, 2025. The exercise refined joint deep air support and close air support proficiency, strengthening overall combat readiness and preparing participants for upcoming training and operational requirements.
