U.S. Army Capt. Thomas Garcia and Sgt. 1st Class Gregory Gilbert, from the 187th Medical Battalion, earn first place in this year's 2025 U.S. Army Medical Center of Excellence Best Medic Competition award ceremony, Dec. 4, 2025. The competition was held on JBSA-Fort Sam Houston and Camp Bullis, from Dec.1-4. They were one of six teams who participated in the event. Garcia and Gilbert will compete in the CSM Jack L. Clark Jr. Army Best Medic Competition in February.
