Former commander of U.S. Strategic Command, U.S. Air Force Gen. Anthony Cotton, hands the unit flag to Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. Dan Caine as a symbolic relinquishing of command during a ceremony in the unit’s headquarters at Offutt Air Force Base, Nebraska, Dec. 5, 2025. “Serving as your commander has been the pinnacle of my career and a true honor,” said Cotton in his farewell message to USSTRATCOM’S more than 40,000 joint force warfighters.
