AT SEA (October 13, 2025) Sailors and U.S. Marines aboard the San Antonio-class amphibious transport dock ship, USS San Diego (LPD 22), hosted a steel beach picnic in celebration of the Navy’s 250th birthday, Oct. 13. Sailors and Marines from the San Diego are celebrating the 250th birthday of the Navy (observed October 13, 2025) by showcasing the history, heritage and capabilities of the Navy. San Diego is underway conducting routine operations in U.S. 7th Fleet. U.S. 7th Fleet is the U.S. Navy’s largest forward-deployed numbered fleet, and routinely interacts and operates with allies and partners in preserving a free and open Indo-Pacific region.
