Green Berets from 1st Special Forces Group (Airborne) aim downrange during the annual 1st SFG(A) Menton sniper competition at Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Wash., Dec. 2, 2025. The sniper competition is a combat-focused event that challenges snipers’ skills and allows them to test their proficiency in a realistic competitive environment.
1st SFG (A) conducts special operations throughout the U.S. Indo-Pacific Command area of responsibility to support command objectives and U.S. national interests. The group maintains and employs units capable of executing the full spectrum of special operations at a moment’s notice with allies, partners, and the joint force.
