Staff Sgt. During the NCOPD, Col. Omar Jones, commander, and Command Sgt. Maj. Robert Lehtonen, senior enlisted leader, 2nd ABCT, 4th ID, awarded Gates the Army Commendation Medal for taking the title “Best Warrior” at the 2nd ABCT NCO of the Year competition in April.
