    U.S. Army Western Hemisphere Command

U.S. Army Gen. Andrew P. Poppas, then-commanding general of U.S. Army Forces Command, greets the family of Senior Executive Service member Mr. E. Eric “Rick” Porter during Porter’s retirement ceremony at Fort Bragg, N.C., Dec. 1, 2025. Porter’s 47 years of continuous service to the Army reflect a lifetime of commitment to the force, from the Cold War to today’s rapidly evolving Army. In addition to his 15 years of service as a senior executive civilian, Porter also retired as a U.S. Army brigadier general in 2010 after more than 32 years of uniformed service. Porter’s family’s enduring support stood behind every chapter of his Army and Senior Executive Service career. (U.S. Army photo by Sgt. Nolan Brewer)
