The Spectrum Guard Elite is integrated into training as part of C4 modernization efforts

U.S. Marine Corps Cpl. Ryan Clarkson, a data systems administrator with Combat Logistics Battalion 6, Combat Logistics Regiment 2, 2nd Marine Logistics Group, monitors high frequencies using a Spectrum Guard Elite through a Getac computer during Exercise Freezing Winds 2025 in Dragsvik, Finland, Dec. 1, 2025. Spectrum Guard Elite is a portable analyzer that scans the electromagnetic spectrum to establish a baseline of frequencies in order to monitor friendly and adversarial frequency footprints. Freezing Winds is conducted to increase interoperability between Marines, Finland, and NATO Allies by executing combined amphibious operations in and around the Baltic Sea littorals, and is part of a regularly occurring series of exercises in northern Europe that demonstrates the capability to deploy and train Marines and Sailors in support of the NATO Alliance. Clarkson is a native of Kentucky. (U.S. Marine Corps photo by Sgt. Makayla Elizalde)
