250922-O-NJ594-1050, Sept. 19, 2025, Virginia Beach, Va. -- Lucinda Harrington, an industrial hygienist with the Navy and Marine Corps Force Health Protection Command (NMCFHPC), informs students about how different noise levels can affect their hearing overtime at the Noise Ninjas station. The purpose of the station was to expose students to the dangers of loud noises and educate them on how to protect their hearing. Staff with the NMCFHPC and Navy Environmental and Preventive Medicine Unit TWO set up a variety of interactive stations to educate students in a fun and captivating way and providing hands-on experiences to ignite a spark of interest for STEM. Over 8,000 students attended the event, with many visiting the stations and being introduced to the wide range of scientific and technical career opportunities available in Navy Medicine.
