U.S. Marine Corps 1st Lt. Mark Chilton, deputy comptroller at Marine Barracks Washington, reads the birthday message from the 13th Commandant of the Marine Corps, Lt. Gen. John A. Lejeune, during the Camp David 250th Marine Corps Birthday Ball in Gettysburg, Penn., Nov. 21, 2025. Marines from Marine Barracks Washington provided ceremonial support to include music from the U.S. Marine Drum & Bugle Corps, a presentation of the colors by the Official United States Marine Corps Color Guard, and a ceremonial cake cutting executed by Marines from Headquarters and Service Company. Their participation highlighted the Barracks’ enduring commitment to honoring Marine Corps heritage and upholding the highest standards of professionalism during this historic celebration of the Corps’ 250th birthday.
