The 1st Reconnaissance Battalion color guard lower the Marine Corps colors for the duration of the national anthem during the Vietnam Prisoner of War 40th Annual Homecoming Reunion at the Richard Nixon Presidential Library and Museum here, May 23, 2013. Nearly 200 former Vietnam POWs and their families gathered at the Nixon Presidential Library on the 40th anniversary of when President Nixon hosted the service members for the largest dinner ever held at the White House, May 24, 1973, on the South Lawn. The battalion also provided a seven-man rifle detail that fired a 21-gun salute to honor those who fought and died during the Vietnam War. The 1st Marine Division Band supported the reunion by playing ceremonial tunes for the event.
