BUSAN, Republic of Korea (Nov. 14, 2025) – Ms. Yi Kyu-pok and Mr. Kim Jin Ha scatter soil over the grave of Korean War veteran Joseph Charles Shepard during an interment ceremony at the United Nations Memorial Cemetery in Korea, Nov. 14, 2025. They completed the symbolic act of laying the veteran to rest according to ceremony tradition. Commander, U.S. Naval Forces Korea (CNFK) is the U.S. Navy’s representative in the Republic of Korea, providing leadership and expertise in naval matters to improve institutional and operational effectiveness between the two navies and to strengthen collective security efforts in Korea and the region.
