U.S. Marine Corps Lance Cpl. Quinton Schilling, a machine gunner with 1st Battalion, 6th Marines, forward deployed under 4th Marine Regiment, 3rd Marine Division as part of the unit deployment program, performs equipment checks on an M27 Infantry Automatic Rifle before starting a live-fire range at Camp Schwab, Okinawa, Japan, Oct. 6, 2025. This live-fire range incorporated a workout circuit and grappling beforehand to simulate the stressors of a combat scenario in order to better prepare Marines for future engagements and increase overall lethality.
