SAN DIEGO (Aug. 19, 2025) — Surgical instruments rest on a table as the Maxillofacial Restoration Program team at Naval Medical Center San Diego performs a complex jaw-in-a-day procedure. Jaw-in-a-day is an advanced reconstructive surgery in which a multidisciplinary team of surgeons work in tandem to remove a damaged part of a jaw and rebuild it in the same operation using a piece of the patient’s lower leg bone.
