U.S. Marines with 8th Engineer Support Battalion (8th ESB), Combat Logistics Regiment 27, 2nd Marine Logistics Group, offload their gear from an aircraft before checking into Combat Logistics Battalion 15 (CLB 15), part of Joint Task Force-Southern Border (JTF-SB), at Marine Corps Air Station Yuma, Ariz., Oct. 9, 2025. The 8th ESB from II Marine Expeditionary Force (MEF) deployed Marines and Sailors to assume a company-sized element falling under CLB 15, displaying the Marine Air-Ground Task Force’s ability to integrate multiple MEFs in operations. JTF-SB executes full-scale, agile, and all-domain operations in support of U.S. Customs and Border Protection to protect the territorial integrity of the United States and achieve 100% operational control of the southern border.
