The 188th Communications Squadron recently completed training to enhance their expeditionary skills in a simulated austere environment at the Razorback Range. This exercise was the first of its kind for the squadron, pushing its members to practice their daily jobs under conditions like those they would face if deployed.
The exercise began with meticulous installation of a secure communication infrastructure between two key locations. Next, the squadron integrated and tested the new systems with existing networks, ensuring seamless communication. Then they enhanced physical and cyber security measures to protect the infrastructure, demonstrating their ability to secure reliable communications while also ensuring force protection.
“This exercise not only tested their technical abilities but also reinforced the importance of teamwork and preparedness,” said Maj. Kimberly Hunter, the 188th Communications Squadron commander. “It was a significant milestone, showcasing their readiness to support command and control operations in any environment.”
