Seabirds fly by as Arleigh Burke-class destroyer USS Mustin (DDG 89) arrives at Naval Surface Warfare Center, Port Hueneme Division in California for a recent Combat Systems Assessment Team event and Underway Replenishment training. DDG 89 is named after the Mustin family for several generations of naval service spanning nearly a century. For example, Capt. Henry Mustin piloted the first aircraft catapulted from an underway ship in 1915. His son, Vice Adm. Lloyd Mustin, was involved in developing the Navy’s first lead-computing antiaircraft gun sight.
