Airman 1st Class Gladys Mendez, a member of U.S. Northern Command's Counter-small Unmanned Aerial System fly-away kit team, connects a cable to a computer process for components of the kit – the Wisp and Pulsar – during an exercise at Minot Air Force Base, N.D., Oct. 21, 2025. The Wisp is a 360-degree, wide-area infrared system that provides real-time imagery for fly-away kit operators, and the Pulsar is an electromagnetic warfare counter-drone effector. The 11-person team demonstrated its ability to rapidly deploy with the fly-away kit and have it set up in a short amount of time to support an installation commander.
