Sharing information key step in strengthening ROK-US alliance

Commanding officers from the Republic of Korea Army visit 210th Fires Brigade, 2nd Infantry Division April 19, 2013 on Camp Casey, Korea. The ROKA leaders viewed equipment, displayed by 333rd Field Artillery Target Acquisition Battery, 1st Battalion, 38th Field Artillery Regiment and E Battery, 6th Battalion, 52nd Air Defense Artillery Regiment, attached to 6th Battalion, 37th Field Artillery, to gain better knowledge of their capabilities. “We have to understand our ally’s capability, so that we can integrate better,” said Lt. Col. Jay C. Gardner, commander of 6th Battalion, 37th Field Artillery Regiment. “Especially for air defense, it is important because we have to pass information to one another and vice versa. Then we can strengthen our combined combat force.” Soldiers displayed the AN/TPQ-37 version 9 Reliability Maintainability Improvement Radar System, AN/TWQ-1 Avenger, and the AN/MPQ-64 Sentinel (ETRAC) for the leaders to view.
