U.S. Army South Dakota National Guardsmen cover their simulated casualty from a UH-60 Black Hawk backwash in preparation to hoist them into the helicopter during hoist training with 10th Special Forces Group (Airborne) Green Berets on Fort Meade, South Dakota, Sept. 20, 2025. Used primarily during medical evacuation missions, the hoist quickly gets medics on the ground or patients into the helicopter when unable to land.
