CARIBBEAN SEA (Sept. 16, 2025) Sailors, U.S. Marines, and U.S. Airmen are lowered on the aircraft elevator during the FY26 Chief Pinning Ceremony aboard the Wasp-class amphibious assault ship USS Iwo Jima (LHD 7). As part of their assigned responsibilities to ensure global reach and readiness, the services routinely provide U.S. Southern Command with resources, capabilities, and personnel to support its mission, War Department-directed operations, and the President’s priorities.
