CARIBBEAN SEA (Sept. 5, 2025) Aviation Boatswain’s Mate (Handling) Khala Downing directs a UH-1Y Huey, assigned to Marine Medium Tiltrotor Squadron (VMM) 263 (Reinforced), to land on the flight deck of the Wasp-class amphibious assault ship USS Iwo Jima (LHD7). U.S. military forces are deployed to the Caribbean in support of the U.S. Southern Command mission, Department of War-directed operations, and the president’s priorities.
