On May 6th, 2025, the deputy USNMR Lt. Col. W. Appleby commemorated the 80th Anniversary of the Liberation of Concentration Camps at a remembrance ceremony hosted by the SHAPE Military History Society and the Liberation Museum of Obourg in Mons, Belgium. Lt. Col. Appleby, along with other national military representatives and community leaders reflected on the lives lost in concentration camps during World War II and the bravery of those service members who fought for the survivor’s liberation.
