U.S. Marine Corps Lt. Col. Davis Gooding gives a speech to Marines with 2nd Battalion, 23rd Marine Regiment, 4th Marine Division during a demobilization brief at Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center, Twentynine Palms California, Sept. 16, 2025. Gooding is the commanding officer of 2nd Battalion, 23rd Marine Regiment, 4th Marine Division. The return marks the conclusion of an intensive period of training for 2nd Battalion, 23rd Marines as they provided a Total Force solution in support of the Unit Deployment Program 25.1 by aligning Marine Forces Reserve’s commitment to Marine Corps strategic objectives.
