U.S. Marines with Charlie Company, Battalion Landing Team 1st Battalion, 7th Marine Regiment, 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit, patrol during the Basic Jungle Skills Course at the Jungle Warfare Training Center, Okinawa, Japan, September 23, 2025. The week-long course instructed the Marines on basic jungle survival skills, tactical rope suspension techniques, and jungle warfare tactics to enhance lethality in harsh jungle environments. Marines patrolled to enhance mobility within jungle terrains and sustain small unit leadership. The 31st MEU, the Marine Corps’ only continuously forward deployed MEU, provides a flexible and lethal force, ready to perform a wide range of military operations as the premiere crisis response force in the Indo-Pacific region.
