U.S. Air Force Airman Gabriel Scottini, 4th Airlift Squadron based at Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Washington, directs the driver of a High Mobility Artillery Rocket System into a C-17 Globemaster III at the combat aircraft loading area at Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point, North Carolina, Sept. 18, 2025. Movement for the exercise also utilized Cherry Point’s aerial port of debarkation to simulate the initial phase of deploying personnel and equipment to showcase joint operations. Cherry Point’s dynamic training environment, which includes a 24-hour air traffic control center, special-use airspace and an aerial port of embarkation/debarkation is versatile to create relative conditions to facilitate joint training and operations.
