AT SEA (Sept. 17, 2025) – Hospital Corpsman 3rd Class Rowan Young, an Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer USS Curtis Wilbur (DDG 54) Sailor, from Seattle, Washington, obtaining intravenous access on a simulated casualty in the medical bay of the Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force Hyuga-class helicopter destroyer JS Hyuga (DDH-181) during a medical evacuation drill with the Republic of Korea Navy and the Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force in support of Freedom Edge 25 at sea, Sept. 17. Trilateral exercises like Freedom Edge demonstrate our shared commitment to maintain peace in the Indo-Pacific. Curtis Wilbur is forward-deployed and currently assigned to Destroyer Squadron (DESRON) 15, the Navy’s largest DESRON and the U.S. 7th fleet’s principal surface force.
