KEFLAVÍK, Iceland (September 13, 2025) - U.S. Navy Sailors assigned to Patrol Squadron (VP) 46 participate in a familiarization ride aboard a Piranha V, attached to the attached to the Royal Danish Army, 2nd Explosive Ordnance Disposal Battalion (2 EODBTN) during Northern Challenge 2025 at Keflavik Air Base, Iceland, September 13, 2025. Northern Challenge is an annual explosive ordnance disposal (EOD) exercise hosted by the Icelandic Coast Guard to sharpen warfighting readiness and strengthen multinational interoperability in complex EOD operations to ensure U.S. forces and Allies remain ready to fight and win together. VP-46 and VP-69 are on a joint deployment in the U.S. 6th Fleet area of operations to support warfighting effectiveness, lethality and readiness of U.S. Naval Forces Europe-Africa, and defend U.S., Allied and partner interests in the region.
