U.S. Marine Corps Sgt. Saul Lozano, a Gunner with 3rd Low Altitude Air Defense Battalion, Marine Air Control Group 38, 3rd Marine Aircraft Wing, fires a FIM-92A Stinger surface-to-air missile at Donnelly Training Area, Alaska, during Exercise Arctic Edge 2025 (AE25), Aug. 22, 2025. The FIM-92A Stinger provides short-range air defense capabilities, allowing Marines to protect forces and assets while supporting AE25’s mission to strengthen readiness and Arctic security. AE25 is a NORAD and U.S. Northern Command-led homeland defense exercise designed to improve readiness, demonstrate capabilities, and enhance Joint and Allied Force interoperability in the Arctic.
