BETHESDA, Md. – Sept. 11, 2025 Battalion Commander (Retired) Keith Cartica, a New York City firefighter who responded at Ground Zero on the day of the attacks, shared a heartfelt message during the 9/11 Remembrance Ceremony at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center Sept. 11, 2025. Cartica honored the memories of the fallen and recited an original poem he wrote to capture the courage and sacrifice witnessed that day. NMRTC Bethesda mission is to maximize warfighter performance through optimized medical readiness tailored to operational requirements; enhance the readiness of the medical force to sustain expeditionary medical capability; and train and develop the Navy Medicine Force.
