Japan Self-Defense Force members with Amphibious Raid Deployment Brigade tour a U.S. Marine Corps UH-1Y Venom helicopter with Marine Light Attack Helicopter Squadron 169, Marine Aircraft Group 36, 1st Marine Aircraft Wing on Marine Corps Air Station Futenma, Okinawa, Japan, Sept. 8, 2025. The tour was held to foster communication between pilots and joint terminal attack controllers in preparation for the upcoming exercise Resolute Dragon 25. Resolute Dragon is an annual, bilateral exercise across Japan that strengthens the command, control and multi-domain maneuver capabilities of III Marine Expeditionary Force and the JGSDF’s Western Army with a focus on controlling and defending key maritime terrain.
