U.S. Marine Corps Cpl. Andrew Wilson, a flightline mechanic with Marine Light Attack Helicopter Squadron 169, Marine Aircraft Group 36, 1st Marine Aircraft Wing, works with Japan Ground Self-Defense Force members from the 1st Combat Helicopter Unit, Western Army Aviation Group to refuel a UH-1Y Venom helicopter at JGSDF Camp Metabaru, Saga, Japan, Sept. 9, 2025, in preparation for exercise Resolute Dragon 25. The squadron arrived in preparation for exercise Resolute Dragon 25, an annual bilateral exercise that strengthens the command, control, and multidomain maneuver capabilities of U.S. Marines in III Marine Expeditionary Force and Japan Self-Defense Force personnel, with a focus on controlling and defending key maritime terrain.
