U.S. Army Spc. Zion Planas, an interior electrician with the 500th Engineer Support Company (ESC), secures the premises of the tactical assembly area during exercise Saber Junction 25, at Joint Multinational Readiness Center's (JMRC) Hohenfels Training Area, Germany, Sept. 8, 2025. Throughout the multinational exercise, the 500th ESC provided critical engineer support including mobility, counter-mobility, survivability, and general construction, to enable operations for the 2nd Cavalry Regiment. Beyond the exercise, the structures they’re building will serve as permanent additions to JMRC, enhancing training realism for U.S. and partner forces during future rotations. Working in a tactical setting allowed the unit to refine field construction techniques and raise the standard for combat engineering in operational environments.
