Commander Kurt. A. Kastner, captain of USS San Antonio and Lt. Col. John W. Capdepon, executive officer of the 26th Marine Expeditionary Unit, search the horizon for a ship lost in stormy seas, March 8, on the bridge of the USS San Antonio. The San Antonio joined the U.S. Coast Guard and the USS Carter Hall in the search for the crippled fishing vessel, which later was reported to have made it safely to land. Elements of the 26th MEU are aboard the San Antonio to assist in the operational evaluation of the ship, which will determine its readiness to carry Marines in future operations.
