U.S. Air Force Airmen assigned to 1st Air Support Operations Group from Joint Base Lewis-McCord, Wash., conduct airborne operations from a C-17 Globemaster III assigned to the 176th Wing, Alaska Air National Guard at Malemute Drop Zone, Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson, Alaska, Aug. 26, 2025. The joint training strengthened joint force readiness in the Indo-Pacific by bringing together units from across the services to train in complex environments. Participating units included the 1st Combat Weather Squadron located at JBLM, riggers from the 4th Quartermaster Company, 17th Combat Sustainment Support Battalion, 3rd Air Support Operations Squadron and the Alaska National Guard assigned to JBER.
