According to Cmdr. Adam Arrogante, a trauma nurse for EMF 150 Alpha and the exercise coordinator, the Role 3 training was conducted “to build proficiency in damage control resuscitation, damage control surgery, and en route care transport.” During the exercise, NHCP’s ambulance port, operating rooms, and intensive care ward simulated an expeditionary environment. “The training we do now while in garrison will directly affect the survivability of casualties on the future battlefield,” added Arrogante. For 250 years, Navy Medicine – represented by more than 44,000 highly-trained military and civilian healthcare professionals – has delivered quality healthcare and enduring expeditionary medical support to the warfighter on, below, and above the sea, and ashore.
