A prescribed fire was conducted by wildland firefighters with Shasta-Trinity National Forest near Shasta Lake April 15-16, 2023.
During the first day firefighters widened an existing fuel break that sectioned off the peninsula. The next day they reintroduced fire across the 3,000-acre peninsula to achieve multiple objectives.
