Staff Sgt. James Alphonso, right, Senior Medic with the 112th Military Police Battalion, 114th Military Police Company, Missississippi National Guard, is the only medic the company has here in Washington D.C. Alphonso has been going out with the command team so that he can check on the health and welfare of all the Soldiers as he is the only medic with them. He is always in a positive mood and can find the good in any situation. On several occasions, he has spent his own money on medications to keep his medic bag stocked so that he is ready to treat whatever ailment Soldiers may have. Whenever we cross paths with other units, he always takes the time to check on them as well no matter what unit or state they are from. His character is in keeping with the Combat Medic’s Creed, “to this end I will aid all those who are needful. . . treating friend, foe and stranger alike, and placing their needs above my own.”
